Dear Dr. Nalubaya,

Thank you for your request for a formal Quotation Estimate regarding the engagement of a senior academic Professor to deliver a comprehensive programme of research supervision, guest lectures, and curriculum development services at your institution in Uganda Kampala. This Quotation Estimate has been prepared in accordance with the scope of work outlined in your letter of enquiry dated 28 May 2025 and reflects current market rates for distinguished academic professionals operating within the Uganda Kampala higher education sector.

The Professor to be engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall provide the following services over a twelve-month period commencing 1 September 2025:

Guest Lectures: Delivery of a minimum of forty-eight (48) contact-hour lectures per academic year across the Master of Business Administration and Doctoral Research programmes, conducted at the Makerere University Business School campus in Uganda Kampala.
Research Supervision: Primary supervision of no fewer than six (6) PhD candidates and secondary supervision of up to twelve (12) Master's thesis students, including bi-weekly one-on-one meetings and formal progress reviews.
Curriculum Development: Design and revision of three (3) postgraduate course modules aligned with the African Association of Universities accreditation standards, to be delivered as a working document by the end of the first semester.
Academic Conference Facilitation: Chairing and keynote presentation at the annual East African Research Symposium hosted in Uganda Kampala, including preparation of a minimum of two (2) peer-reviewed papers for the conference proceedings.
Administrative Advisory: Monthly advisory sessions with the Faculty Board on matters of academic governance, research ethics, and institutional strategy specific to the Uganda Kampala higher education landscape.

All amounts are quoted in Ugandan Shillings (UGX). Exchange rate reference: 1 USD ≈ 3,750 UGX as at the date of this Quotation Estimate. The Professor’s engagement is subject to the standard terms of the Uganda National Teachers’ Union collective agreement where applicable.

A mobilisation advance of 25% of the total Quotation Estimate value shall be payable within fourteen (14) calendar days of contract signature.
Remaining balance shall be disbursed in quarterly instalments of 25% each, payable within twenty-one (21) days of the end of each academic quarter.
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the account designated by the Professor or the engaging institution, as stipulated in the signed service agreement.
Late payments shall attract a penalty interest of 1.5% per month, in line with the Uganda Moneylenders and Other Financial Service Providers Act.

This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, rates may be revised to reflect changes in the Uganda Kampala academic labour market.
The Professor shall be engaged on a fixed-term contract of twelve (12) months, renewable by mutual written agreement no later than sixty (60) days prior to expiry.
Either party may terminate the engagement with thirty (30) days’ written notice. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata adjustment to the Quotation Estimate total shall apply.
All intellectual property generated by the Professor during the course of this engagement shall be jointly owned by the Professor and the host institution in Uganda Kampala, as detailed in a separate IP addendum.
This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until both parties have executed the formal Service Agreement. It serves solely as a financial projection and scope reference.
Disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved through mediation under the Uganda Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 2000, with the seat of arbitration in Uganda Kampala.

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and confirms that the scope, rates, and terms presented herein are acceptable for the engagement of the Professor in Uganda Kampala.
