1. Purpose of This Quotation Estimate

This Quotation Estimate is issued by the Université de Paris to formally outline the complete financial and operational terms associated with the recruitment and engagement of a University Lecturer for the Department of Comparative Literature. 4. Payment Terms and Schedule

The total amount specified in this Quotation Estimate shall be disbursed in accordance with the standard French public-sector payroll cycle. The base salary and regional allowance (Items 3.1 and 3.2) shall be paid monthly in arrears via direct bank transfer (virement) on the last working day of each month. The research grant, teaching materials fee, and professional development budget (Items 3.3, 3.4, and 3.5) shall be released in two equal installments: the first upon the commencement of the academic year in September 2025, and the second in February 2026. The onboarding and administrative processing fee (Item 3.6) shall be settled as a one-time payment within fifteen (15) business days of the University Lecturer's official start date. All employer social contributions (Items 3.7 and 3.8) shall be remitted to the relevant French authorities (URSSAF, CNAV) on a monthly basis in compliance with French labor and social security legislation.

5. Terms and Conditions

  1. This Quotation Estimate is non-binding until formally accepted in writing by both the Université de Paris and the appointed University Lecturer. Acceptance shall be evidenced by the signing of the official contract of engagement (contrat d'engagement) in accordance with French public service regulations.
  2. All costs are exclusive of Value Added Tax (TVA), as public higher education institutions in France Paris are exempt from VAT under Article 261 of the French General Tax Code (Code Général des Impôts).
  3. The University Lecturer shall be subject to the statutory working hours applicable to French civil servants in higher education (192 hours of teaching per year, supplemented by research and administrative duties).
  4. Any revision of this Quotation Estimate due to changes in French national salary scales, social contribution rates, or institutional budget allocations shall be communicated in writing no later than thirty (30) days prior to the start of the academic year.
  5. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a guarantee of permanent employment. The engagement is for the specified academic year and may be renewed subject to mutual agreement and available budgetary provisions.
  6. Disputes arising from the interpretation or execution of this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved in accordance with French administrative law and, where applicable, through the competent administrative courts in France Paris.
  7. The University Lecturer is required to maintain professional indemnity insurance and to comply with all data protection regulations, including the GDPR and the French Loi Informatique et Libertés, in the handling of student records and research data.
