As stipulated in this Quotation Estimate, payment for the University Lecturer engagement shall be structured as follows:
- 25% deposit (ZAR 392,147.13) due upon signing of the academic appointment contract, no later than 14 days prior to the commencement of the academic year.
- Monthly instalments of the remaining balance, payable on the last working day of each calendar month, commencing from the month of appointment.
- Final settlement of any outstanding balance, including the research allowance and postgraduate supervision fees, to be processed within 30 days of the conclusion of the academic year.
All payments shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the designated institutional account. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, in accordance with the National Credit Act applicable in South Africa Cape Town.
5.1 Validity: This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates and figures are subject to revision based on prevailing economic conditions in South Africa Cape Town.
5.2 Cancellation: Should the institution elect to cancel the engagement of the University Lecturer prior to the commencement of the academic year, a cancellation fee of 10% of the total estimated cost shall apply. Cancellations during the academic year shall be governed by the terms of the individual employment contract.
5.3 Confidentiality: All information contained within this Quotation Estimate and any subsequent contractual documentation shall be treated as confidential by both parties in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.
5.4 Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate or the resulting engagement shall be resolved through mediation in Cape Town, Western Cape, before referral to the Labour Court of South Africa.
5.5 Governing Law: This document and the engagement it describes shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
