This sculpture is said to have been found in Surin Province in eastern Thailand, just north of Cambodia. While most closely related to sculptures found in southern and eastern Thailand, it also displays Cambodian features of the pre-Angkor Prasat Andet style, such as the manner of arranging the wraparound skirt (sampot) and the modeling and proportions of the body. While neither the position of the hands nor the costume helps to identify the figure, it is most likely a bodhisattva, perhaps from a trinity that would have included a central Buddha.Free picture Bodhisattva, possibly Maitreya integrated with the OffiDocs web apps
