The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India, was founded by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. IISc was founded in 1909. Jamsetji was born on the 3rd of March 1839, in India, to commemorate the memory of the founder, March 3rd of every year is observed as Founder's Day at IISc. The Founder's statue is garlanded, floral tributes are paid to the Founder by placing floral wreaths at the Founder's statue. To mark the occasion a one month long Annual Flower show is also held.
