#TamilEelamHistory: Tamil Eelam police was established in 1991. The first batch of police officers graduated on Nov 18, 1991, and the Tamil Eelam police started to function on the next day Nov 19, 1991. They served the people of Tamil Eelam until May 18, 2009.
The khaki uniform is the common one for other South Asian police, however, the Tamil Eelam police uniform was light blue similar to Western and European police. The reason was that Tamil people constantly tortured and killed by the genocidal Sri Lankan police and psychologically, the Khaki color put fear. Not only the color of the uniform, discipline, friendlier to people, and ethical standards also kept higher.
Even though Tamil Tigers fought against Sri Lanka's genocide, they established a fully functional and ethical State Tamil Eelam in the 1990s and they entered internationally facilitated peace talks in 2002. Before the British colonize Eelam, Tamils had their own kingdom, from 1990 until May 18, 2009, Tamils had their own country Tamil Eelam. Tamil Eelam police were part of the TE government.
