Prabhakaran and Tamil Tigers Image It came to light that India and several other nations promised some of Tamil political leaders (TNA) and diaspora entity that once Tamil Tigers eliminated, Eelam Tamils would get a political solution such as federal system. Basically Tamil politicians fooled by powers in big time at the expense of thousands of Tamils lives as many thousands of Tamils got killed after the war ended (not at the war) in the Criminal Sri Lankan custody.
It took a while the evidence of war crimes emerged via human rights and journalist groups, and UN has no choice other than accept it's mistake and then Canada, USA and UK put forward resolutions after resolutions. After 2009, most of the Tamil Tigers's world wide entities were went either silent or take part in tarnishing the very own organization they supported in the past or blackmailed by Sri Lankan regime to keep quite. After 2009, voice for justice mostly raised by newly formed Tamil Diaspora groups and they had to beg for raising even to run projects in small scale around 100K (For Sri Lanka's killing field documentary, the crowed funding kick starter project to raise 30K British pounds took over two months).
It took another few years for Tamils to realize what's going on, in 2015, Tamils in Northern province realized that the Sri Lanka's genocide continues and escalated, so they resolved that via democratic resolution and sent it to UN calling it Genocide and ask for justice. By that time, China got upper hand and west and European nations put forward plan to change the regime while putting forward resolution at UN to form hybrid court. China's influence and debt trap worked very well for them and west and Europe as well as India lost their influence.
India, West and Europe still keep their ban on Tamil Tigers even though it was fully decimated in May 2009. The only reason they kept the ban is either tarnish the history or recreate Tigers for their advantage. USA or India can not create an organization like Tamil Tigers (LTTE). India knew it because India created and trained several militant groups, but they were only slaves. USA created several in the world, and they were slave too.. Tamil Tigers were different, they were raised for Tamil people mandate. They fight to protect that people and they died and fell for that people.
Geo politics and world politics aside, Tamil Diaspora has to think about why preserving their ethical, brave and honest history important. Tamil history is at least three thousand years old, Tamils never had any honest leader like Hon. Prabhakaran in history and it's extremely unlikely Tamils to have such honest, humble, ethical and brave leader in next several hundred years. Knowing the history and how Tamil Eelam State was built and the structure will help the future of Tamil Diaspora to understand the values and more than that be confident with their proud identity.
