Covers of CableView Publications' small ("bill stuffer") and magazine format cable TV listing guides for 1986, beginning with January (Richard Gere, and "2010"); February ("The Empire Strikes Back"); March ("Amadeus," "The Killing Fields," and Madonna); April (Candice Bergen, "Police Academy 2" and "Code of Silence"); May (Bill Murray for "Ghostbusters," and Ladyhawke"); June ("Gremlins" and Chevy Chase); July (Cher for "Mask," Beverly Hills Cop," and "Prizzi's Honor"); August ("Commando" and Tom Hanks); September (Sylvester Stallone for "Rambo: First Blood Part II," "The Emerald Forest," and the Disney Channel premiere of "Pinocchio"): October (Susan Sarandon, "Jagged Edge" and "Death Wish 3"); November (Kelly McGillis for "Witness," and Cocoon"); and December (Dudley Moore, "Rocky IV," "Brazil" and "The Color Purple"). CableView, which was based in New York City, and later in Edgewater, N.J., produced guides for cable systems around the country. It appears to have folded in themid-2000s. Note: Because some cable systems did not offer all premium channels (some might only have HBO and Cinemax, or only Showtime and the Movie Channel), if a big premiere was an exclusive to one service or another, an alternate cover would be produced (hence, a cover with either "Sophie's Choice," "Flashdance," or "Sophie's Choice" AND "Flashdance").
