When he got elected, President Joe Biden said that \u2018America is back.\u2019 It's been a little over a month since he first stepped into the oval office, but he's already ordering airstrikes on Syrian soil, the same thing that he once criticized Donald Trump for. Perhaps the America he talks of never even left.The US has targeted Iran-backed militia in Syria, the Pentagon confirmed, adding that the airstrikes were approved by Biden and intended as reprisal for rocket attacks on US bases in Iraq.\u2018At President Biden\u2019s direction, US military forces earlier this evening conducted airstrikes against infrastructure utilized by Iranian-backed militant groups in eastern Syria,\u2019 Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in a statement. According to him, the airstrikes were limited in scope in an attempt to avoid escalatory retaliation.Kirby claimed that the strikes inflicted serious damage on the infrastructure of \u2018a number of Iranian-backed militant groups including Kait\u2019ib Hezbollah and Kait\u2019ib Sayyid al Shuhad,\u2019 noting that \u2018multiple facilities\u2019 were destroyed.
