Renown as a kind and caring woman, Sariel has all the trappings of the motherly type. She's open, willing to listen and help others with their problems. Though this is what she is on face value, she has many dark secrets- something about her isn't right. Many view her as vapid and shallow, a woman who wears a mask.

[ Bio ] TW; DARK THEMES
Sariel was born in the era of the Bubonic plague; living at the time in a European nation. ( Many theorize she was Irish, or that she may have lived in Italy, but she has never disclosed this information. ) She was born into a poor family, with a mother and father and two younger sisters. When the plague hit and her parents died, it didn't take long for the middle daughter to become sick as well. Amazingly, Sariel and the youngest sister, Vivian, had managed to stay safe and clean from contracting the plague. As a result, they did watch the rest of their family die.
With nothing to hold them to their plague ridden town; they fled into the countryside. It was tough, traveling in such dark times, and their luck was not merited. They were attacked by lowly road bandits, beaten and left to die; the two sisters were thankful to have at least lived that long. However, fate had not destined them to die just then; a man came along in the dead of night, illuminated by the full moon, and gifted them life. The two sisters were turned into Vampires, and awoke to the harshness of the morning sun in alarm. From there on out they were cursed night dwellers, only able to live off the life force of living things and travel by the light of the moon.
They traveled from town to town, not staying long for fear of people knowing what they were- from there on out they could never live in one place for too long.
They immigrated to Caduceus some years later, where those of Vampiric king were more welcome. The two experienced a falling out, and thus Vivian left on her own. Sariel meanwhile aided in the Caducean Civil War and served as an aid for kings years to come. It was only recently in her long life that she left the side of the crown to open her Academy.
Upon moving to Virgo, she became close friends with those of the Cross family- who took her in graciously as an honorary member. She was known to all in their coven as Aunt Sariel, and more recently- with the death of the last remaining adults of the Cross family, she took in Arisu and Lance. Even though she is not actually related to them, she cares for the two as her own.
