Gabriel Furniture was a furniture store in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin that operated from 1928 to April 2019. Its building, located on the southeast corner of College Avenue and Morrison Street, was originally constructed in 1888 as Konemic Lodge, which served as the Appleton Odd Fellows' Hall. The metal cladding on the building's exterior, covering the original brick facade, was added in the late 1960s. For more information on the building's history, see this article:
https://www.bluepageswiki.org/wiki/201_East_College_Avenue_(Appleton,_Wisconsin)

The store was founded by Joseph Gabriel, and remained in the Gabriel family until it was sold to Joe and Ruby Wells in 1988. Joe had started as an employee at the store in 1974, and never worked anywhere else. They announced they would close the store in April of 2019, and the historic building was converted into loft apartments which opened in 2020.

These pictures were taken on the afternoon of March 1, 2019, slightly less than two months after the closure was announced. Most, but not all, of the rooms in the building were photographed, with some being left out in respect to the employees stationed in them. An effort was made to capture as much as possible of the building and its furniture, and in the interest of caution some images may be redundant. Images 1513 through 1539 were taken on the ground floor, 1540 through 1573 in the basement, 1574 through 1595 on the ground floor, 1596 through 1689 on the second floor (i.e., the floor directly above the ground floor), 1690 through 1754 on the third floor (the top floor), 1755 through 1762 on the second floor, and 1763 through 1772 are of the exterior.

Images 1807 through 1829 were taken during a follow-up visit on March 11, 2019. Also included are two scans of a promotional flyer provided at the store at that time. Note that the HEIC files are the original photographs, being taken on an Apple iPhone, and contain the original metadata, while the JPG files were created by conversion later.
