:bulletred: INFORMAL |: 'having a relaxed, friendly, or unofficial style, manner, or nature' personable & easy to talk to; it makes him quite popular to gossip & information, with a charming face and smile it's not hard to get people talking. he is extremely friendly to people who don't try to kill him/berate him immediately, but even in many cases such traits aren't exactly turn offs to his forgiving nature.
:bulletred: CONFIDENT |: 'feeling or showing confidence in oneself; self-assured' the 'fake it til you make it' sort; charismatic and good at bluffing his way through situations. when he's not satisfied with himself, he seeks out a way to fix things rather than turning self doubt into insecurities- but do not be fooled, he has them.

LEGEND OF ZELDA VERSE |: the prince's retainer
born during a time of peace in hyrule to commander sanne grimson of the ranger corps. he spent much of his childhood similarly to her's; raised by his grandparents in the peaceful gathering grounds of faron. all the trappings & skills of a normal ranger were passed onto him by his grandfather. he respects his mother & keeps a good relationship with her, thought being motherly isn't really her style; he acknowledged that she tried and found herself unable to put aside her gruff ways. the two keep a good relationship, but it is a quite deal formal.
his love for the sea comes from many years spent in lurelin with his grandfather, who was once rumored to have been a pirate before resigning a life of thievery to serve the former king of hyrule. honor bound by a family of rangers, rafael couldn't pursue such a life; and instead left training as a ranger for a short time to travel hyrule. he made many trips to gerudo to spent time with his honorary 'cousins' shirin and nanali, scaled death mountain more than once ( and almost died doing so, more than once ), went cliff diving with ritos, and claims to have seen the dragon farosh herself before returning to hyrule castle to take up a much needed job. since he was near the same age, he was appointed a retainer to crown prince croft; a job he did not expect to enjoy, but takes much pride in. after getting to know the introverted prince & his knight retainer, ashen, he found working among them was more ideal than being a run of the mill ranger.
