A poorly hand made chevrons for a Specialist 9 United States Army, Specialist 8 and 9 were authorized and never given according to the scuttlebutt in 1958 when the U.S. Army changed their olive drab wool Ike jackets for AG44 Army Green uniforms with new pay grades from E-1 (Recruit) to E-9 (Command Sergeant Major). Grade 1 was First Sergeant, grade 2 was Platoon Sergeant, also called Sergeant First Class, on down to pay grade 7 for a Private who wore no rank insignia. This Repro was made in Pakistan for collectors.
