"I sit and watch and listen
to the clock go tick-tock.
Hark, not no ordinary clock,
but a great grandfather clock.
Tick-tock, tick-tock,
tick-tock, tick-tock,
goes the clock, goes the clock.
Time goes by like a snail
and to no avail, inch by inch,
but ever so swiftly and shifty.
Alas at last so slow yet fast
the hands keep to their goal
long before the bell tolls.
Tick-Tock, tick-tock,
tick-tock, tick-tock,
goes the clock, goes the clock.
My eyes linger at the time.
Seconds go by. Minutes go by.
Hours go by. Days go by.
Years and years go by.
Aging with wrinkles is no wonder
or a predicament to ponder,
yet say that to an antique clock
that's as old as Gibraltar's rock.
Tick-Tock, tick-tock,
tick-tock, tick-tock,
goes the clock, goes the clock.
Madness creeps into my mind
like a sloth coming from behind
as I watch this clock keep time.
Round and round it goes
Where it stops nobody knows.
Can we get off this ride of time?
No we can not for we are the chimes.

3am. Noon. 3pm. Midnight.
