Horowitz Plays Scriabin. Vladimir Horowitz (1903-1989), piano performs works by Russian composer Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915). Just months before his death in 1915, Scriabin heard the 11-year-old Horowitz perform in Kiev. He was impressed and encouraged the Horowitz family to continue the young boy's development. Sonata No. 10 was recorded in Carnegie Hall on April 17, 1966. All other selections were recorded in New York City in May, 1972. Transfer from the original Columbia stereo LP M 31620 by Bob Varney.
