Once upon a time, there was an inmutable “world order” based in two superpowers, the United States of America and the Soviet Union. But the unthinkable happened. One of the superpowers collapsed, “the order” crumbled, and United States became the only superpower in Earth. The USSR disappeared in 1991 but when the Andrei Amalrik's book –“Will the Soviet Union Survive Until 1984?” – was published, in 1970, the question was almost incredible, unthinkable. If in 2020, we demand “Will United States survive next decade?” at minimum the question is reasonable, thinkable, even more, the expression “It's like watching the decline of the Roman Empire,” is becoming popular. After the collapse of the USSR (that it was neither Union nor Republic nor Soviet nor Socialist), United States was the undisputed hegemonic superpower in the Earth. The dolar, already debased to fiat money after lost their gold convertibility, flooded commercial transactions worldwide. Nowadays the decline of this imperial power is blatant and current President of the United States has the stench of the end of empire. Anycase is a fact that a new multipolar world is emerging before our eyes. The challenges we face at a planetary scale questions contemporary assumptions on governance. At the brink of a 'shutdown', Spaceship Earth needs an upgraded operating system. As the United Nations under-secretary-general recently stated, “Today, the chain reaction from a sick planet to sick animals and humans is clearer than ever. Preventing the next pandemic will require protecting the health of the planet and all who inhabit it.” The good governance is a powerful tool to tackle and solve problems, to obtain #OneHealth in all aspects of life. Clearly we are in need of a governance for 21th century. And in fact a new form of governance is emerging by using Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other crypto technologies.
