Use authentication with OffiDocs to edit online your documents in the cloud. OffiDocs provides either an anonymous access or an access with login / password.
All the OffiDocs applications to edit online documents, XLS, PDF, images have been enhanced with new methods to authenticate the end users.
There are two methods for the authentication in OffiDocs:
- Anonymous access. This authention method identifies the users with an id, the user id. There is not any password defined by the end user. This access is recommended for a quick access to OffiDocs or when dealing with irrelevent documents.
- Authenticated access. This authentication method required both userid and its password. They are required in order to have access to the end user online disk space. The online disk space contains the user files and the applications to edit online all the files supported: PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoints, images, photos, audios, music and videos. This access is the recommended one.
The access to the OffiDocs online disk space is available when clicking in the button Files or in the Menu option "File Manager" available in all the OffiDocs applications:
If you have not set a password for your userid, you will see an alert in the OffiDocs File Manager. You can continue having access to your files in this OffiDocs space. But your workspace is not protected so other users could also have access to your files if they know your userid.
You can protect your workspace if you click in "Change userid", and enter a password.
When you have entered in the OffiDocs option to change the password, you can also change the userid. OffiDocs is multiaccount. It support multiple accounts.
Once you have defined the password, the OffiDocs file manager does not show any message alerting about the anonymous unprotected access.
