Birthday postcard; portrait of young woman in dress, with flowers.
The obverse shows a young lady with a bouquet of flower and light dress. The text reads: \u201cWith loving birthday wishes\u201d and the poem: \u201cYour days be bright and joyous all, But this one marked and set apart, By rarest joys that ever fall, In blessings on the heart.\u201d
Reference code H. 2053/3 is included in the lower left corner under a shied containing the monogram WH.
The reverse has printed along the right side: \u201cReal Photograph handpainted. A. H. Smith, Northampton\u201d. Includes descriptor \u201cPOST CARD\u201d and dividing text. The right states \u201cReserved for Written Matter\u201d whilst the left states \u201cReserved for address\u201d
The postcard itself is addressed to \u201cMiss E Knight, 83 Moore street, Kingsley Park, Local\u201d. The message reads \u201dDear Emily. With my best wishes for a very happy birthday. With love from Annie.\u201d
Half-penny postage is affixed and canceled with long waves and the centre mark of \u201cNORTHAMPTON\u201d at an unknown time \u201c? AM\u201d plus a partial date \u201c3 FEB ??\u201d. Possible 1918, 1928 or 1926.
