2. & 3. World War II photographs of a company of newly minted soldiers @ the Fort Des Moines' First WAC Training Center ~ circa October 10th, 1944.

The Women's Army Corps was created on July 1st, 1943.

Private Mary (Bailey) Schmidt (1912-1969) is pictured standing on the fourth row down from the top & fourth from the left.
