A playful series of running lions and bowl-carrying erotes, separated at center by a flowering vase, decorates this tapestry-weave clavus. The remains of an applied tabula adorned with a lion are also preserved on the fragment. Similar, more complete fragments in European collections suggest that this fragment may be from a garment that would have had more specifically Nilotic motifs, such as swimmers, birds, and fish.
